Then & Now

In October 2016, the Diamond Bar Ranch’s next chapter began as the Ranch changed ownership.

The Ranch has a storied and colorful past, as most locals of Cody, Wyoming are aware.  J.C. Nichols (aka. Kid Nichols) purchased the Ranch circa 1920s and named it the Diamond Bar Ranch.  Many of the structures that survive on the Ranch today date back to J.C. Nichols’ vision… most strikingly, the iconic Wisconsin-style red barn.

The Ranch has changed hands a few times since Kid Nichols’ time and pieces of it have been sold or traded away; however, the lower portion of the Ranch survives mostly intact (historically referred to as the Lower Diamond Bar Ranch prior to the recent change in ownership: it’s now referred to simply as the Diamond Bar Ranch) and presents as the showcase headquarters of the much larger operation it once was.
